More than likely you searched for real estate in Cobb County, GA – Something like Marietta GA homes; or Kennesaw Real Estate, or Acworth, etc. We are glad you are here and we will be sharing with you how to use this site and get the most out of your experience. There is a lot to talk about so we will do this in a series so that there isn’t too much information presented at one time.

Look on the www.CathyMeder.com Homepage at the very top right. You will see, “CONTACT US” with a small upside down triangle just above. Click the triangle and a window will appear with a (clickable) map to my office on Dallas Highway, phone contacts and a form which you can fill out that will send me an email message.

Just to the left of the Contact Us is the “LOCAL AREA INDEX” which, when clicked, will open a window with many links to various searches that have already been set up for you. This is one of many ways this site has been optimized to help get you started on your home search. When you click the link of your choice you are taken to an optimized search results page with more search options.

Next, just below my picture, you’ll find the Top Navigation Bar with “Home,” “Listings,” “Buying,” “Selling,” “Foreclosures,” “About” and “Blog.” Each of these has a drop-down menu except for Home and Blog. Navigation is important because it saves time and frustration, so you will find the same links and more throughout the website. Most of these are intuitive and self explanatory but allow me to comment on a couple of them.

Listings Drop-down – This is where you Search Listings in specific ways that are listed below.
  Featured Listings – These are all of Cathy Meder’s personal listings
  Foreclosures – Same as the Foreclosures button on the Top Nav Bar.
  By City, By Subdivision, By School, etc. – Click “By School” for an example. It takes you to a page with selections for Property Type, Choose Your City and Select School Type. Choose Residential, Kennesaw and High School. As soon as you select the School Type the system gives you a list of schools in the City you chose. Make the rest of the selections and click Start Search! and you’ll be off and running. Note: Look towards the top of the By City, By Subdivision, By School, etc. page and notice that each selection is on a Tab, so you can search multiple ways from the same page!

Hide Slideshow – Below the Navigation Bar is a “Flash” presentation with Slideshow of homes and scenes taken around our area. It is nice to look at but it can become intrusive when you’re ready to use the website to look for homes. There is a simple control for this located on the top right corner of the slideshow. Just click the red “Hide Slideshow” button and you are done. Click “Show Slideshow” if you want to turn it back on.

Right Side Navigation – We’ll discuss these in greater detail in another Blog. Starting at the top: 
  FIND YOUR NEXT HOME by… Quick Search box – Just make your selections and click Search to get started.
  My Account – It let’s you login, giving you more capability managing and saving information.
  Main Navigation – These are all heavily used links for navigating the website.
  Featured Communities – Just click where and what you are looking for.
  Recent Blog Posts – We are just getting started writing and the blog posts will be categorized later on.

Bottom Navigation and more Contact Information – If you happen to scroll all the way to the bottom of the homepage, these items should be self-explanatory.
