Kennesaw Information Continued

Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park

Kennesaw has become a wonderful bedroom community over the past twenty years, transitioning steadly from rural farming countryside to new and upscale subdivisions in all price ranges. Still considered "close-in" to Atlanta, Kennesaw is known for great schools, health care, shopping and recreation among many other outstanding community features. You will love living here if you so choose.

For more than 29 years I've watched as the little town of Kennesaw has grown and grown into the big town of Kennesaw. In fact, the city of Kennesaw claims to have grown from just over 5,000 in 1980 to well over 21,000 in 2000. The true numbers tell of an increase of 325% in only 20 years!

Kennesaw has undeniably grown, and will more than likely continue to do so, making capital gains and greater equity a benefit to all homeowners in Kennesaw, Marietta and the surrounding regions, as well. So if you are planning on moving to Kennesaw, whether to an established neighborhood or to a brand new home in a brand new subdivision, you are not alone. Moving to Kennesaw seems to be a popular trend.

What draws people to Kennesaw? Perhaps its the proximity to Atlanta without the higher taxes, perhaps it's that it still retains the spirit of its humble beginnings. Maybe it's just that this area near Atlanta has become a fabulous place to live all on its own.

Consider the development of "our beloved" Barrett Parkway (once just a little rural thoroughfare), but now, three lanes of traffic on both sides of the road with people bustling to all the many shops, stores, offices, restaurants, and other businesses that we have gathered together one right after the other. We can say the same thing about Dallas Highway with its new shopping center, The Avenue at West Cobb.

And our recollections continue. With new subdivisions like the Overlook at Marietta Country Club, Belleterre, The Highlands and Hamilton Township, among others, the proof is there: We live in a fantastic community and we love new neighbors!
