The city of Acworth is located northwest of Atlanta in West Cobb County Georgia. It sits on the edges of a wonderful recreational area known as Lake Allatoona. Parts of the old city are being renovated and revitalized with new businesses and restaurants.

City of Acworth, Georgia Information

General Information

We live and work Northwest of Atlanta and Acworth, Georgia is located about 35 miles from Atlanta. It used to be that the further away from Atlanta you drove the lower the prices of homes became. While this is still true to some extent, you might not realize it by looking at those prices. Acworth is "home" to some very upscale subdivisions which you'll love.

Just so you'll know, counties in Georgia are unusually large. I don't know about other states, but here in Georgia, a large area around a city will take on that cities name (and so will the Postal addresses) for convenience and the entire area goes by the city name; and so it is with Acworth.

The old town of Acworth has gone through some revitalization and is, frankly, looking good. It still has the old timey look, but is full of new businesses and restaurants. Check it out - there is a Cajun place there we love!

The newer part of Acworth, business wise, is on US-41 just south on Hwy 92. It is New! with grocery stores, restaurants, home supply stores, clothing stores, etc.; they are even building new movie theaters. In a word - Shopping!
